Dr. Jina Chung

Assistant Professor of Dermatology

University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Jina Chung is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania with clinical and dermatopathology expertise in cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders. She received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed her dermatology residency at the University of Iowa, and fellowship training in dermatopathology at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Chung is part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the care of patients with cutaneous lymphoma at Penn, and she is a frequent invited speaker at national conferences, and has authored numerous publications focused on cutaneous lymphoma.

Dr. Michael Christopher

Dr. Michael Christopher is a board-certified dermatologist and expert dermoscopist recognized for his leadership in early melanoma detection. Through consistent, evidence-based use of dermoscopy, he identifies between 150 and 215 melanomas annually—far exceeding state and national averages and highlighting important variations in standard skin cancer screening practices. Dr. Christopher is a leading advocate for improved detection standards and patient education, regularly speaking on prevention, early diagnosis, and advancements in screening across health, wellness, and longevity-focused media.

Dr. Natalie Krane

Oregon Health & Science University

Dr. Natalie Krane is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Her clinical practice primarily focuses on rhinoplasty and complex facial reconstruction. Her grant-funded research focuses on the impact of mindfulness-based interventions on perioperative outcome measures, such as anxiety, sleep quality, pain, and narcotic use. She has also delivered invited lectures in the U.S. and internationally on physician health and wellness, focusing on performance and recovery optimization.

Dr. Mark B. Taylor

Founder & Medical Director

Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center

Mark Bowen Taylor, MD is a board-certified dermatologist who trained at the University of Oregon. In 1997, he founded the Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center in Salt Lake City. He is recognized for his contributions to acne scar subcision, laser-based therapies, fellowship education, and the development of physician-directed dermatologic enterprises. He is particularly known for his work innovating advanced treatment for complex acne scars.

 

Dr. Taylor has served as Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Surgery director of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS).  In addition to fellowship leadership, Dr. Taylor serves as a preceptor for senior dermatology residents from the University of Utah, providing instruction in advanced cosmetic and laser dermatologic procedures.

Ada West Dermatology

Dr. Lisa Swanson is a board-certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist.  After going to college at the University of Colorado at Boulder, she obtained her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.  She performed her dermatology residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  After that, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona.  She was in private practice in Colorado for a decade and then moved to Boise, Idaho in summer 2020 to become the first and only pediatric dermatologist in the state of Idaho. 

 

She is active in local and national medical societies and organizations.  She loves lecturing at conferences discussing pediatric dermatology with audiences across the country.  Since moving to Idaho, she works in private practice at Ada West Dermatology and she is also on staff at St Luke’s Children’s Hospital.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys binge watching television shows with her boyfriend Larry and cuddling with her 2 doggies Mosby and Maggie.

University of Utah Resident Speakers

Dr. Mason Seely

Mason Seely is a post-doctoral clinical research fellow at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Santa Clara University and graduated from the honors program, Summa Cum Laude in 2019. She then completed her medical training at Duke University School of Medicine in 2024 followed by an internship in internal medicine at the University of Florida in 2025. She will start her dermatology residency at Virginia Tech in July 2026 where she hopes to further explore and develop her clinical interests in autoimmune blistering disease, scleroderma, and dermatomyositis. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, swimming,

and painting.

Dr. Ali Eisenbeiss

Ali Eisenbeiss, MD is a dermatology resident at the University of Utah, where she also completed her medical degree and undergraduate and graduate degrees in biomedical engineering.  Dr. Eisenbeiss’s professional interests include medical device innovation in dermatology and expanding access to high-quality dermatologic care in rural and underserved communities. This fall, Dr. Eisenbeiss will join Ada West Dermatology as a general dermatologist, where she looks forward to providing comprehensive dermatologic care and continuing her commitment to community outreach and innovation.

Dr. Skylar Westerdahl

Skylar Westerdahl, MD is a dermatology resident at the University of Utah with clinical interests in pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. He has been actively involved in research spanning inflammatory skin disease, laser-based therapies, and systematic reviews. His academic work has been presented at national meetings, and he is committed to advancing thoughtful, patient-centered dermatologic care through both clinical excellence and scholarly inquiry.
